H.E. Miguel Alonso Berrio, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Bulgaria, visited the National Centre of Excellence “Mechatronics and Clean Technologies” at the Geo Milev campus.
The visit took place during the 22nd International Symposium on Solubility Phenomena and Related Equilibrium Processes (ISSP 2026), organised by the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The forum brought together leading researchers from 18 countries, including established scientists from Spain. bas
During the visit, Ambassador Alonso Berrio learned about the work of the symposium participants and toured the National Centre’s laboratory complex. He showed particular interest in the research infrastructure and in the scope for joint initiatives in science, technology and innovation.
Prof. Radostina Stoyanova, Director of the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and the Centre’s team thanked the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain for its support in hosting the international scientific forum.
The Ambassador congratulated the Spanish scientists taking part in the symposium and underlined the importance of international scientific cooperation. Both sides expressed readiness and interest in future initiatives and partnerships between Bulgarian and Spanish scientific organisations.
The National Centre of Excellence Mechatronics and Clean Technologies conducts research and maintains modern laboratory infrastructure in support of innovation and technological development.
