Upgraded system for rheological measurements
Upgraded system for rheological measurements of polymer solutions and gels. Determination of dynamic viscosity and of the elastic and loss moduli for the optimisation of compositions. Applicable to the analysis of polymers, composites, photoactive layers and photocatalytically active membranes. Equipped with a HAAKE™ MARS™ rheometer operating in rotational and oscillatory modes.
Description of activities
- Study of the rheology of polymer solutions and gels.
- Determination of dynamic viscosity and of the elastic and loss moduli.
- Identification of optimal compositions.
Service description
Study and characterisation of polymers and polymer composites;
Monitoring of absorption in the active layers of photovoltaic devices; characterisation of polymer-organic photocells
Monitoring of the photocatalytic action of membranes
Equipment
HAAKE™ MARS™ rheometer
The multifunctional rheometer operates in rotational and oscillatory modes and is used to evaluate the dynamic viscosity and the storage and loss moduli of polymer solutions and gels. Evaluating these characteristics makes it possible to identify optimal compositions.
Laboratory Access and Service Requests
The laboratory is part of the research infrastructure of the National Centre of Excellence “Mechatronics and Clean Technologies” and is located on the Geo Milev campus. Requests for access and for joint research are therefore handled centrally — see Contacts. In addition, a full overview of the Centre’s other laboratories is available on the Infrastructure and Laboratories page.
The laboratory’s equipment was established under project BG16RFPR002-1.014-0006, funded under the Programme “Research, Innovation and Digitalisation for Smart Transformation” 2021–2027 and co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.
