Clean Technologies, Circular and Low-Carbon Economy
The Clean Technologies, Circular and Low-Carbon Economy strand covers energy storage materials, catalysis, electrochemical technologies and methods for the plasma treatment of gases. Institutes of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy and Sofia University take part in this strand.
Innovation in the generation, storage, conservation, efficient distribution and consumption of energy, including energy from various renewable sources;
· Creation of modern information complexes for autonomous energy systems;
· Hydrogen-based technologies: hydrogen production with an emphasis on green hydrogen, and the storage, transport and use of hydrogen in industry, the energy sector, transport and households;
· Development of innovative sustainable technologies for integrating hydrogen into industrial processes, particularly those that are harder to decarbonise, such as steel, cement and glass;
· Development and deployment of technologies relating to sustainable mobility (battery and hydrogen) based on hydrogen and other alternative fuels, the associated infrastructure and eco-mobility;
· Technologies for the efficient use of resources, for reducing the content of hazardous substances, for the use of alternative raw materials and other materials, for extending the life of products and for their use in other industries and services;
· Zero-waste technologies and methods for incorporating waste products and materials from production into other industries and services
