The laboratory conducts research aimed at developing new materials with application in the conversion and storage of clean energy, as well as hydrogen storage.
ACTIVITIES
The laboratory performs synthesis of amorphous and micro- / nanocrystalline metal alloys, synthesis and characterization of micro- and nanoporous metal structures with application in ion batteries; preparation and testing of metal alloys as electrodes in metal hydride batteries.
SERVICES
- Characterization of the thermal (and some thermodynamic) characteristics of materials used in metal hydride and ion batteries.
- Investigation of the kinetics of crystallization of amorphous materials used in batteries, as well as as starting materials for obtaining nanoporous metal structures.
- Characterization of the thermal (and some thermodynamic) characteristics of materials used in metal hydride and ion batteries.
EQUIPMENT
Potentiostat with the possibility of electrochemical microscopy – used to determine the corrosion potential and current of solid solutions and two-phase alloys; selective electrochemical dissolution of metal alloys in order to obtain porous structures; determination of the electrochemical activity of alloys with respect to the hydrogen reaction.
